International cooperation
A part of every FTCS member’s annual membership fee goes to maintain international relations as our society
pays membership fees to international technical communications umbrella organisations. The benefits of being a
part of these organisations is that we receive more information and also have more chances to influence and take
part in the international operations. We have also been given the chance to take part in a few international projects
where we collaborate with technical communications societies from other countries. Every FTCS member has a possibility
to take part in the international cooperation practiced by the society. These pages contain information about the
organisations and the projects.
INTECOM
Here you can find information about INTECOM, which is an international umbrella organisation for technical
communications societies. The Finnish Technical Communications Society is also a member.
TCeurope
FTCS was one of the founders of TCeurope, which is a European umbrella organisation for technical communications societies. The organisation cooperates with the European Union and it has several ongoing technical communications development projects, in which our society takes actively part too. Read more about TCeurope on this page.
TecDoc-Net
Project TecDoc-Net is a networking project under the auspices of TCeurope and the European Union. In this project, which runs for three years, the Finnish Technical Communications Society is in an important role as the consultant for Poland. The project aims at defining the objectives for technical communications education in Europe and to help new countries in founding their own technical communications societies. You can find more information about the different stages of the project and the role of FTCS on this page.
